DBMS English School wins �Kids of Steel School� quiz contest

Jamshedpur, Jan. 28: Ved Vinit and Onkar Sahu of DBMS English School won the �Kids of Steel � Inter School quiz competition� organized by Tata Steel at the Micheal John Auditorium on Thursday. DBMS boys walked away with cash prize of Rs 35,000.

Shadan Kalam and Adnan Azmal of Rajendra Vidyalaya were crowned the runners-up and they received Rs 25,000 cash award, while Loyola School boys� team comprising of Akshit and Kaushik bagged the third spot and a cash award of Rs 15000. Consolation prizes of Rs 4000 were awarded to Nishant and Nikhil of Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Samarth and Atirek of Hill Top School and Ishan Singh and Kishan Dey of Little Flower School.

Altogether 167 teams from 21 schools participated in the quiz. The competition was divided into two sessions � prelims and final.

The six teams that were selected for the final round were Loyola School, DBMS English High School, Little Flower School, Hill Top School, Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Telco, and Rajendra Vidyalaya.

The quiz was hosted by very famous Quiz Master Pick Brain Giri Balasubramanium of Grey Caps. Giri appreciated the quizzing enthusiasm of the school students of Jamshedpur. He said there is tremendous talent among the students of Jamshedpur and they have the potential to leave their foot print in the quizzing world.

Merlyn Anklesaria, senior mangar, Corporate Communications & CFE, Tata Steel, addressed the gathering also gave away the prizes to the winners.
