DBMS English School awards meritorious students at Prize Night

Jamshedpur, April 19: The Annual Prize Night of the DBMS English School was held in the school auditorium on Tuesday.

On this splendid occasion, the school reverberated with the remarkable achievements and exuberant spirit of the students in myriad fields of excellence.

The wonderful evening was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Professor Kumar Alok, Assistant Professor of XLRI, Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur.

The proceedings of the evening began with the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest. This was followed by the academic procession of the rankers. Divya Nair, the Co-Ordinator of the High School led the rankers of Standard VIII and IX. Manisha Bhattacharya, Co-Ordinator of the Plus Two Level led the rankers of Standard X and Standard X Special Awardees as well as National Players. Awardees of Standard XI, XII and General Special Awardees were led by the School Principal Rajani Shekhar and Vice-Principal P.K.Sahu.

This proud moment was followed by a prayer song invoking the blessings of the Almighty to spread the light of knowledge and commitment towards excellence. Thereafter, Principal Rajani Shekhar presented the school report highlighting the achievements of the school in varied fields of brilliance. This was followed by a beautiful dance put up by students.

Then came the much awaited moment for the proud awardees.

Standard XII Special Awardees were awarded by the Chief Guest and the patron of the D.B.M.S. English School, Bhanumati Neelakanthan. The Achievement Award was received by Meet Kumar Doshi of Std. XII D.

The Best Athlete Award was received by Soumya Sukriti of Std. XII B. The award for Excellence in Sports was received by Kripa Adapa of Std. XII C. The Cultural Attainment Award was received by Aditya Raj of Std. XII A. The All Rounder Trophy for the Commerce Section was received by Manav Madia of Std. XII.

Thereafter an enlightening speech by the Chief Guest inspired students to excel in their lives and to make their Alma Mater proud by leaving an indelible mark in their chosen field. The Chief Guest was presented a memento in form of a lamp by the Joint Chairperson, Lalitha Chandrasekhar.

This was followed by the Secretary’s Report which was presented by Archana Ramesh, Secretary of the School managing committee.

The rankers of Standard VIII A, B and C were awarded by Divya Nair. Rankers of Standard VIII D, E and IX A were awarded by Manisha Bhattacharya. Rankers of Standard IX B, C and D were awarded by  Archana Ramesh,Secretary of the School Management Committee. Rankers of Standard IX E, X A and X B were awarded by Priya Nagrajan, Joint Secretary of the School Management Committee. Rankers of Standard X C, Dand E were awarded by Lalitha Sheshadri, Treasurer of the School managing committee.

The chairperson of the School managing committee, Lalitha Chandrashekhar and B Chandrashekhar gave away the Std X, special awards. In this category,  the special recognition Award which is awarded to a student of std X who has been maintaining the 1st Rank the maximum number of times from std IV to std X was won by Bartika Kumar of XA. The All rounder trophy was awarded to Shristi Rani of X C. The award for outstanding social service was shared by Keshav Agarwal and Aditya Ranjan of XC. The award for excellence in sport in the ICSE level was won by Anushka Poddar of XD. The award for Best Athlete was awarded to Amandeep Kaur of X E. The Achievement award for securing maximum increase in the year’s  average total from standard IX to standard X was awarded to Shattesh Kumar Sahu of XC.

The std XI special awards were given away by the vice principal of the school Mr PK Sahu and the General Special awards were given by the Principal, Rajani Shekhar.The award for scoring highest marks in the ICSE examination in the academic year 2021-2022, was won by Arunesh Gadia. Theaward for scoring highest marks in the ISC examination in the science stream in the year 2021-2022 was won by Abhishek Jawanpuria. The award for Excelling against all Odds was one by Keshav Agarwal of 10 C. Kumar Avinash won the award for being the Best Student of std VIII. Priyanshu Kundu was awarded the trophy of being the Best Student of std IX. The coveted trophy for the best house was won by the Green House.

Thereafter the Head Girl Mehika Nagelia presented the Valedictory speech.On this grand occasion twelve teachers were also felicitated by the Chairpersons Lalitha Chandrashekhar and B Chandrashekhar as well as the Principal Rajani Shekhar for their long service and commitment to the school. The proud recipients of this award were Jayanto Sen,  Mitali Subramaniyam,  BhawnaVerma, Mitu Bannerjee,  Roma Verma,  Meenakshi Krishnan, Sindhu Nair, Shibu Sona,  Vasanthi Raghuram,  Harpreet Kaur Bhambra,  Sabiha Khan and Ramesh Agrawal.
