Jamshedpur, June 27: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-I of DBMS College of Education, Kadma, organised a special assembly on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat” as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Week campaign. The programme was conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Regional Directorate of NSS, Patna, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The event aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to mark International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed on June 26. Students were encouraged to stay away from drugs and contribute to building a healthier and more responsible society.
Student Pragya delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of a drug-free India and urged young people to spread awareness about the dangers of addiction. Anjali administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge, with students promising to remain free from substance abuse and educate others about its ill effects. Rashmi recited a poem highlighting the devastating impact of addiction and the need to adopt healthy values.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita said that a drug-free India is the foundation of a developed nation. She encouraged students to choose education, discipline, and good health over addiction and urged them to become ambassadors of the anti-drug campaign by spreading awareness among their families, friends, and the wider community.
The special assembly motivated students to adopt a healthy lifestyle, fulfil their social responsibilities, raise awareness against drug abuse, and actively promote the message of “Nasha Mukt Bharat – Identity of a Developed India.”
