Teachers from multiple institutions participate in professional development programme in Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur, Jan 31: DBMS College of Education successfully organized a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) aimed at enhancing teachers’ professional skills and encouraging innovative and reflective teaching practices. The programme brought together faculty members from various educational institutions across the city and nearby regions.
The chief resource person for the event was Dr. Karunakar Patra from Rourkela Institute of Management Studies, who conducted an engaging and informative session on “Transformative Learning.” He discussed different approaches to make teaching more impactful and learner-centered, emphasizing the role of teachers in shaping meaningful educational experiences.
Faculty members from the Departments of Education and MBA of Jamshedpur Women’s University, Shrinath University, and Arka Jain University participated actively. Teachers from Jaminikant B.Ed. College, Karim City College, and DBMS College of Education, along with alumni of DBMS College, also attended and benefited from the sessions.

The programme was conducted by Mousumi Dutta, Assistant Professor, DBMS College of Education. In her welcome address, Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita highlighted the importance of continuous learning for teachers, stating that when educators grow, the entire education system becomes stronger.
Vice-Principal Dr. Monika Uppal delivered a session on leadership, while Dr. Surina Bhullar, Dr. Meenakshi Choudhary, Gayatri, Poonam, and Amrita shared their insights. Assistant Professor Archana Kumari served as the Programme Coordinator.
The event was supported by a technical team led by Sudip Pramanik, along with Birendra Pandey, Julian Anthony, and Abhijeet De. The programme was attended by Chairperson B. Chandrasekhar and other members of the governing body. Certificates were distributed to all participants at the conclusion of the FDP.
