Day 2 of Ensemble: Next Gen Leader tests bright brains

Jamshedpur : Frenzied entertainment marked the second day of XLRI Jamshedpur�s Ensemble 2013 which continued to offer knowledge in diverse fields of management along with value entertainment.

Day 1 ended with the comedy show at the Tata auditorium by Vipul Goyal which witnessed one of the most massive turnouts at XLRI.

The second day kicked off with the second round of show-stealer Tata Administrative Services(TAS) �Next Gen Leader�, the prime event which aims to discover leadership potential in the bright minds of the youth across top institutions such as IIM-A, IIM-L, IIM-B, IIM-I, XLRI, SPJAIN, IMT, MDI, XIMB and IIM-S.

The event spread over 3 days is presented by TAS, the title sponsor for Ensemble and TAS will be granting a direct GD shortlist for the winner who also bags Rs. 1 lakh in prize money.

The finalists visited Bistupur and Jubilee Park with the objective of generating money in 3 hours time. The team from IIM Indore won the first round by making Rs 1450 out of Rs. 500 by displaying their creative sales skills and creating value addition to a product within a given time frame.

The result for Flagship events in marketing, operations management and industrial relations (IR) among others were announced yesterday. In �Strike or Yield�, which is the flagship IR event, the team from XLRI stood first and bagged coveted pre-placement interviews with the finalists from SIBM Pune coming second.

The three-day extravaganza will run until the 17th of November and fittingly conclude tomorrow night with a pro-show by popular singer Papon. Aman Jain, a finalist from IIM Bangalore said:�The event line-up that XLRI has is among the most competitive in India.

I am hoping to put my best effort and win the amazing prizes on offer�. The holistic aspect of Ensemble was highlighted by Mr Ankit Srivatsav, a student of IIM Shillong as he recounted his participation in the event TAS Next Gen Leader yesterday.

Corporate representatives from TAS, Aircel, the Aditya Birla Group and Airtel personally visited the campus and stated their happiness with the nature of the business festival and exemplified the deep connect between XLRI and the industry.

Ticket sales for tomorrow�s music concert by Papon, the magical voice behind chartbusters in �Barfi� and �Dum Maaro Dum� are fast selling out with necessary security measures being put in place for the high-octane show for which the tickets can be purchased at the XLRI campus.

The line-up for the final day of Ensemble includes business events in finance and consulting, a talk by Anand Kumar of super 30 fame, the final round of TAS Next Gen Leader, a culinary challenge titled �MasterChef� and an epic performance by Papon will finally bring the curtains down on the management extravaganza.
