Jamshedpur, March 31: Teachers should be the greatest minds because they sculpt children’s brains and we have one such great mind retiring today. With this valedictory note, the staff, students and management of from DAV Public School, NIT, Adityapur, bid a warm farewell to teacher Sipra Sarkar, who rendered 26 years of service.
The function began with a speech by the deputy director of the zone and principal of the school, O. P Mishra who was full of praise for Sipra Sarkar. He said she had discharged all her responsibilities with devotion, energy and loyalty for the institution.
Speaking on the occasion, one of the teachers said Sipra Sarkar was not only a popular and good teacher but also an able administrator who always loved to work for the cause of betterment of the students as well as the institution.
This followed the junior school teachers’ group song headed by Amrita Barua. In her farewell speech, Sipra Sarkar thanked the DAV management, teachers and the students for their support.
Speaking on the occasion, Reena Prasad, one of the senior social science teachers of the school, said the institution will miss her professional expertise and her cordial relationships with the management, staff and the students.
Sujata Das, another senior mother teacher, shared some of her memorable experiences with Sipra �mam�.
Teacher Himani Shaw thereafter read a citation and presented it to Sipra Sarkar who was further felicitated by the principal with a shawl and a memento.
A vote of thanks was proposed by B S Choudhury, the supervisory head of the school.
