DAV National Sports State Level tournament 2024 kicks off at DAV Bistupur

Jamshedpur: Two-day DAV National Sports State Level Tournament 2024 for Wushu and Table Tennis began with great enthusiasm at DAV Public School, Bistupur on 21 August. The event saw participation from 446 athletes representing ten clusters across Jharkhand, along with 55 escort teachers. The opening ceremony was graced by ARO cum Principal Pragya Singh, who welcomed the heads of participating schools including Mahua Singh from DAV Model School, CFRI, Dhanbad, and Chandrani Banerjee from TATA DAV School, Sijua, among others.

In her address, Principal Pragya Singh thanked the dignitaries for their presence and motivated the participants to balance their academic and athletic pursuits. She highlighted the recognition of the DAV National Sports event by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and expressed pride in the event’s significance. Singh urged all athletes to compete with zeal and maintain their passion for sports.

The tournament officially commenced with Singh declaring it open. Participants competed in various categories with Table Tennis events featuring U-14, U-17, and U-19 divisions for both boys and girls, while Wushu matches were organized by weight categories. The day was marked by impressive performances from the athletes, with a vibrant atmosphere of cheers and applause. The tournament will continue with the finals and award ceremony scheduled on August 22, where state-level winners will advance to the national stage.
