DAV Bistupur hosts ‘Inter – Generational Bonding’ programme

Jamshedpur, Nov. 29: DAV Public School, Bistupur hosted a one day sensitization programme on ‘Inter-Generational Bonding’ in school on Thursday.
The programme flagged off with the customary DAV Gaan, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the resource persons- Ipsito Chakravarty (Research Associate, CMIG) and Sukhenpada Sen (Senior Outreach Staff, CMIG), along with Pragya Singh, Principal, DAV Public School, Bistupur and Dr. Pratibha Singh, HOD English Department and resource person.

Calcutta Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology, a Regional Resource and Training Centre, works for the over-all well being of senior citizens of the nation in collaboration with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and National Institute of Social Defense as an RRTC.
Pragya Singh, Principal, DAV Public School, Bistupur addressed the gathering and explained about the generation gap with anecdotes from real life situations. She emphasized upon the importance of accommodating the needs of the older generation along with the need to extend our help and support to these elderly people.
Dr. Pratibha Singh reiterated the same sentiments with the help of a touching video presentation. Ipsito Chakravarty spoke about the essence of our culture with varied examples, presented a synopsis of generational perspective and digital empowerment-The Road to graceful ageing Sukhenpada Sen emphasized upon the works of CMIG.
The programme concluded on a positive vibe whereby the younger generation was sensitized towards the needs of the senior populace.
