Jamshedpur, Sep 4: Manishi, an alumnus of DAV Public School, Bistupur, Jharkhand, has created history in First-Class cricket by equalling a rare world record during the Duleep Trophy 2025-26 quarter-final in Bengaluru. Representing East Zone, Manishi produced a sensational bowling spell against North Zone, taking six wickets in a single innings—all through leg before wicket (LBW). This remarkable feat has been achieved by only five bowlers worldwide before him.

Manishi’s cricketing talent was evident from childhood, earning him a place in the Under-19 Indian team in 2019. He made his international debut against South Africa that year, impressing with his skills.
Reflecting on his success, Manishi expressed gratitude to Mrs. Pragya Singh, Principal cum ARO DAV Public Schools, Jharkhand Zone-E, and his sports teacher, Mr. Nikunja Kishore Chhatoi, for their constant guidance and encouragement. He also thanked all his teachers for helping him strike a balance between academics and sports.

Principal Pragya Singh congratulated Manishi, stating that his discipline and dedication will continue to bring pride to the school and the nation. She wished him success in his upcoming cricket journey.
Manishi, who made this landmark achievement in his maiden Duleep Trophy appearance, is now preparing for the Ranji Trophy, scheduled to begin on October 15, 2025.
His record-equalling six LBW dismissals stand as a testament to his skill, focus, and perseverance. This milestone not only highlights Manishi’s potential but also serves as an inspiration for young cricketers across the country, proving that dedication and determination can lead to extraordinary success.
