Dama Soren of Co-operative Collage shines at East Zone Youth Festival

Jamshedpur, Jan. 7: Dama Soren of Jamshedpur Co-operative Collage bagged the first prize in the poster making competition at the 31st Inter University East Zone Youth Festival at Tejpur University in Assam.

Soren’s poster was on the subject ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’. In the collage making competition Kolhan University won the second prize where the KU students participated in eight competitions as the 5-day Inter University East Zone Youth Festival came to a close on Thursday, January 7.

On the hand KU Team Manager Dr. RK Choudhary was also felicitated for students disciplined approach during the festival. Dr. Choudhary informed that KU team will depart from Tejpur on January 7 and will reach Jamshedpur on January 9. Dama Soren, who won the first prize has been slected Inter zonal National Youth Festival to be organized at Mysore University in Mysore from 15 to 18 February, 2016.

Significantly, a 22 member contingent of Kolhan University (KU) participated in the festival which began on January 3. The KU team with Chhau dance along with drums was the centre of attraction on the opening day.

Dama Soren from Co-operative College participated in Clay Modeling, Collage and poster making. The 5-day festival witnessed students from 26 universities of East Zone.
