Cyclonic circulation leads to light showers in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Several regions across Jharkhand braced themselves for the onset of slight thunder showers and lightning today, according to a short-term forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Ranchi Meteorological Centre this morning. The forecast encompasses various districts, with heightened anticipation in areas such as Jamshedpur, Chatra, Garhwa, Latehar, Palamu, Giridih, Koderma, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, and Ranchi.

Weather Patterns:The nowcast has also highlighted the likelihood of isolated hail in districts including Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, and Latehar. Additionally, the forecast has not ruled out the possibility of hail in Gumla, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Hazaribag, and Koderma.

Temperature Fluctuations: As a consequence of the adverse weather conditions, there has been a noticeable increase in the minimum temperature across most parts of the state today. The highest recorded maximum temperature stands at 29.6°C in Chaibasa, while the lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 9.7°C in Godda.

Meteorological Circulations: Satellite imagery indicates a cyclonic circulation over Marathwada and its surrounding areas at 0.9 km above the mean sea level. Additionally, another cyclonic circulation has been identified over west Vidarbha at 1.5 km above mean sea level. These atmospheric patterns are contributing to the ongoing weather phenomena in the region.

Recent Weather Activity: Over the past 24 hours, light rain has been reported at isolated places throughout the state. The highest amount of rainfall during this period, measuring 5.2 mm, was recorded at Jaldeg in Simdega.
