Jamshedpur, June 3: On the occasion of World Cycle Day, a cycle rally was taken out at 5.30 am on Friday. The rally started near JRD Gate, covered a distance of about eight kilometers and returned to the starting point. State BJP spokesperson Kunal Sharangi and world renowned sportsperson Avtar Singh flagged off the cycle rally.
The rally was organized jointly by the city’s social organization JCI Identity and Bike Studio. More than 90 participants who included children and ladies participated in this rally. The program was directed by Kritika Goel of JCI Identity and coordinated by Neema Modi and Monika Bankrewal.
A lucky draw was also held at the closing ceremony, in which the first three lucky ones were given silver coins while seven received a bicycle-mounted mobile pouch each. All participants were honored with certificates.
At the conclusion of the event the chief guest, Kunal Sharangi, while appreciating the program exhorted citizens while observing, “We should all be associated with sports in some form or other, which is associated with good health. One of these is cycling which ensures very good and complete fitness. Make cycling a part of your life.”
SCCI President, Vijay Anand Moonka, the special guest on the occasion, said, “Jamshedpur is Jharkhand’s sport capital and seeing the participation of people in such programs proves the awareness of citizens towards their health and wellbeing.”
Internationally famed sportsman Avtar Singh stated the benefits of cycling and urged the organizers to conduct such events intermittently.
National level cyclist Avneet Singh asked the youth to focus on cycling so that they could make a mark on their future as renowned sportspersons. Vishnu Goel, proprietor of the Bike Studio, said, “We should make cycling a part of our life from the point of view of environmental safety, financial savings and health. Today it has become a necessity for us to use the cycle regularly.”
Prashant Agarwal, Mohit Moonka, Praveen Agarwal, Alok Kewalka, Saurabh Sonthalia, Ramesh Agarwal, Abhishek Naredi, Rinku Agarwal, Payal Sonthalia, Kavita Dhoot and Anju Modi on behalf of K Bike Studio ensured the success of the cycle rally. Kiran Agarwal, Prerna Dhoot, Sonal Agarwal, Pooja Modi, Chandni Agarwal and others were present on the occasion. Breakfast and refreshments were arranged by the organizers for rally participants and guests.
