Cyber frauds strike again using app download strategy in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Apr 12: Cyber thugs have resorting of downloading apps like Quick support and SMS to phone to hack data of persons and then use it to withdraw money from banks. 

This came to fore after a complaint by Kadma Uliyan resident Vishwajit Dutta as cyber thugs asked him to download Quick Support app and SMS to phone and withdrew Rs 1.18,216 from his bank account. A case has been lodged at Bistupur cyber thana in which the complainant has said that a phone came from number 7735438125 which asked him to fill up KYC and send him a link to fill up bank details and asked him to inform about OTP but when the OTP did not came. A call came from another number which said that since KYC is not complete his mobile number would soon be closed and asked him to fill it up online and asked him to download the apps which the complainant did on his mobile phone and as soon the notification of data access allow was selected the amount got debited from his account. 
In the last one week cyber frauds have cheated four persons and withdrew Rs 10 lakh from their accounts including Kadma Eden park resident Mani Ravishankar, Barsole resident retired teacher Ashwini KUmar Sahu and Tata Steel retired employee Vidya Tiwary.
