Jamshedpur: Suspected cyber criminals have swindled Govinda Mahali of Lipighutu village under Jadugoda PS of Rs 7 lakh by promising to install a Jio mobile tower on his land. He has informed Rural SP Subhash Chandra Jath and apprised him of the predicament.
Govinda Mahali, while narrating the incident said that on January 24 he learnt through a classified advertisement run in a daily newspaper that Reliance Jio required land to set up its mobile tower. Accordingly, the Lipighutu resident called up Mithun Bedika and Kamlesh as per the contact names and numbers provided in the advertisement. �Mithun Bedika directed me to deposit Rs 7 lakh in installments into Canara Bank and State Bank of India a/c nos 33030112591 and 20811010179 respectively which I did.
In spite of my depositing the money there was no word from their end. They did not return me my money either,� lamented Govinda Mahali.
It is being suspected that Mahali had been swindled by cyber criminals. The case has been recorded at the Jadugoda PS. Police have started investigation in the matter.
