SAP Labs’ Arvind Gupta shares insights on digital safety

Ranchi, Apr 5: A comprehensive and insightful workshop on Cybersecurity was organized jointly by the Departments of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra. The event took place at the CAT Hall and featured Arvind Gupta, Business Information & Security Officer at SAP Labs, as the keynote speaker.
The session was inaugurated by Dr. Vishal H. Shah, Associate Professor, ECE. Arvind Gupta was felicitated with a memento and bouquet by Dr. Sanjay Kumar (HoD, ECE) and Dr. T. Ghosh (HoD, EEE).
Gupta discussed vital concepts such as data breaches, vulnerabilities and cyberattacks, simplifying complex topics for student understanding. He emphasized the growing need for data protection in both personal and professional spheres and shared real-world experiences, offering students a practical view of industry challenges.
“Every click in the cyber world should be a responsible one,” Gupta advised, urging students to adopt secure digital practices. The workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where students enthusiastically explored queries on security measures, career opportunities and technical concerns.
The session significantly enhanced students’ awareness and inspired many to explore cybersecurity as a career path, marking it as a meaningful step toward promoting safe and informed internet usage in the digital age.
