Curtains come down on four-day MCBA 2016 at NML

Jamshedpur, Feb. 19: Curtains came down on the four-day Professional Training Programme (PTP) on Mineral Characterization, Beneficiation and Agglomeration (MCBA 2016), which was organized by the Business Development Division along with the Mineral Processing Division (MNP) and IMDC Division of CSIR-NML, at the Lecture hall of CSIR-NML here on Friday.

Welcoming the guests and participants, Dr. B. Nayak, Head Mineral Processing Division, CSIR-NML, expressed his happiness over the well-designed technical content and deliberation.

Chief Scientist and Advisor (Management) at CSIR-NML, Dr. N. G. Goswami said, “Emphasis has been laid on skill-based development and hands-on experience to create more industry conscious and job ready individuals who are ready to tackle the issues facing our industries and make significant contributions to their respective fields. We, at NML are pleased to inform you that we shall be conducting more such programme in the future”.

Dr. Goswami, also distributed the training certificates to 22 participants from Beach Minerals Pvt. Ltd., Tata Steel Ltd., Ashapura Minechem Ltd, RINL/VSP, NIT Jamshedpur. He congratulated the participants for actively participating in the discussions and successfully completing the training program.

Dr. Mita Tarafder, Joint Coordinator, MCBA 2016, shared the feedback received from the participants and mentioned that this is being shared through social media. During the training programme, questions were submitted by participants, and the answers to those will be made available through digital media.

In the concluding address, Dr. Amitava Mitra, Head of Business Development Division, highlighted the future collaborative opportunities with CSIR-NML and requested participants to visit the NML for technical consultation and experimental work.

During these four days, delegates submitted technical questions in the MCBA 2016 Quiz. P Sivan Bharati Ramachandran of Beach Minerals Company India Ltd, Tamil Nadu, was declared the winner and received a prize.

Representatives from the participating industries received the Technology Handbook and Equipment Brochure of CSIR-NML. Dr. Ratnakar Singh, Coordinator, MCBA-2016, and Chief Scientist, Mineral Processing Division, CSIR-NML proposed the vote of thanks.
