Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Yugavashistha Brahmananda Sangha�s annual event Guru Purnima Mahotsav began on Sunday, July 17. The three-day event will host several cultural and religious programs at Rabindra Bhawan in Sakchi and Brahmolokdham in Kadma.
The annual event began with cultural program deep prajwalan, which was inaugurated by Saryu Rai, state food and civil supplies minister on Sunday at Rabindra Bhawan.
Addressing the gathering, Saryu Rai said, had the goddess strength and I attended several of his discourses. Rai further said, Swami Brahmanand Shastri was a great human and when I reached near to him then only I realized that he was a really a great human.
Without guru, knowledge cannot be imparted and guru provides us with eternal knowledge. He appealed all to walk on the path laid down by Guru.
This was followed by Drama on �Samarpan� by Kolkata branch while the Mumbai/Nasik branch showcased drama on �Sneha Mamta�. Deep prajwalan was held at 4.30 p.m. followed by drama on �Bhakti ka Bhao� by Cuttack, Muzzafarpur and Kharagpur branches. The first day will conclude with drama on �Satyabadi Raja Harischandra� by Varanasi branch.
All the programs on the first day were held at Rabindra Bhawan.
On the occasion Kripabindu Bhattacharjee, president of Bharatiya Yugavashistha Brahmananda Sangha, said devotees from different branches such as Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai, Indore, Raipur, Varanasi, Muzaffarpur Cuttack, Puri and Ranchi are in the city for the three day festival.
Several events have been lined up on July 18 and July 19. On second day (July 18) Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato will be present as the chief guest. This will be followed by Drama on �Punarvas� by Delhi Branch.
A documentary film will be screened by Varanasi Branch at 6.30 pm while Jamshedpur branch will put up drama on �Sutaputra Karna� at 7 pm in Rabindra Bhawan, Kripabindu Bhattacharjee said.
