Chandil: A cultural programme was organized in Kathjod village of Chilgu panchayat in Chandil on Thursday on the occasion of Buddha Purnima under the aegis of Sarvajanik Shiva Puja Committee.
The devotees of Lord Shiva worshipped the Almighty and prayed for the peace and prosperity of one and all. A Jhumar and Chhau dance programme was also organized on the occasion.
Local Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sadhu Charan Mahato, present on the occasion as a guest, said the Jhumar dance was a heritage of the tribal people and that it should be preserved through sincere efforts.
