Cultural program marks Teachers’ Day at DBMS College of Education

Jamshedpur, Sept 5: Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great zeal and reverence at DBMS College of Education on Tuesday. The festivities commenced with a heartfelt wreath-laying ceremony at the portrait of the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony by the teachers of the institution.

In his address, College Chairman B. Chandrasekhar underscored the profound philosophy of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who believed that a true teacher is not merely a disseminator of facts but a mentor who equips students to face the challenges of tomorrow. Teacher’s Day, he stated, is a festival that celebrates the profound bond between teachers and students while expressing gratitude towards educators.

The event was marked by a variety of cultural programs, including welcome songs and theatrical performances, presented by the talented students of the college.  Priya Dharmarajan, the college’s secretary, shed light on the life of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, emphasizing that teachers are the cornerstone of society and serve as nurturing figures akin to mothers for their students.

Principal Dr. Juhi Samarpita reflected on Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s exceptional stature, describing him as a gem of the nation.

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan believed in appointing only the finest individuals as teachers, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the nation’s future.

During the celebration, students shared their aspirations and pledged to draw inspiration from the life of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. They expressed their appreciation by honoring all the teachers with congratulatory letters and flower bouquets.

The event was attended by the entire staff, including members of the management committee, who joined in commemorating Teacher’s Day and celebrating the dedication and commitment of educators in shaping the future of their students.
