Ranchi, April 20: Chief secretary Rajbala Verma directed the Education Department to prepare a list of unaffiliated schools and said that considering their infrastructure and other parameters, their affiliation should be processed within three months.
Reviewing the performance of the School Education and Literacy Department at Project Building on Wednesday, Verma She said that the school management committee should be made more effective so that attendance, academy and drinking water should be ensured.
In order to ensure timely presence of teachers in schools, the village level people should know the toll free number so that common people can also lodge complaints. She said that DSC and BEO should be made more accountable.
She directed the departmental secretary to do the needful amendment in the teachers’ appointment manual, get roster clearance from districts and asked the secretary to consider the points related with reservation herself.
The CS said that the posts identified for appointment in upgraded primary and middle schools should be sent immediately to administrative post category committee.
The CS directed to electrify all the schools of the state. She directed the departmental secretary to get DPR prepared from Energy Department for electrification of the schools. She said that it will help students get technical and other education easily.
Verma further directed the concerned officials to speed up the process to get the first installment from the Center by May- June.
The Education Secretary informed the CS that Rs. 3478.90 crore has been provisioned for primary education and Rs. 771.17 crore for secondary in the financial year 2016-17.
Moreover, Rs. 1401 crore has been provisioned for primary education and Rs. 214 crore for secondary education under ‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan’ of the central government.
The CS directed to make the parents aware to send the drop out children back to school. She also directed to present a report on the status of right to education followed by private schools.
Education secretary Aradhana Patnayak along with other officers was present in the meeting.
