Ranchi, Jan 3: Director of Ministry of Human Resources Department, Government of India in his the progress report on Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) today said that the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya(KGBV) in Jharkhand state has done a commendable job.
He was speaking at the 34th Executive Committee meeting of SSA held at Project Building with Human Resources Department in presence of the Chief Secretary R.S. Sharma.
Chief Secretary at the meeting suggested use of pre-fabricated structures in civil works in interior areas instead of constructing patent buildings.
Chief Secretary also suggested a third party evaluation of programme for special training the school students, inclusive education such as- home based education, escort allowances, parental counseling, training on Braille & signs and training of school management committee members. He recommended including basic hygiene policy in the curriculum textbooks.
Human Resources Department Principal Secretary K. Vidyasagar said that growth has been reported in elementary schools, increase in the share of girls� enrollment and decrease in annual average drop-out rate.
Additional Chief Secretary, Drinking Water & Sanitation Department Shri Sudhir Prasad, Finance Secretary A.P. Singh, State Project Director, Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), Mamta, State UNICEF Head Job Zachariah along with other officials were present during the meeting.
