Ranchi, Dec. 4: The Jharkhand chief secretary Rajiv Gauba today held a meeting on the establishment of Birbal Sahani Eco-Park in Sahebganj district. It was decided to fast-track the establishment of Birbal Sahani Eco-Park in Sahebganj district.
The meeting also decided that the project may be formulated in such a manner that the land acquisition is minimal and the Eco-Park has an in-situ model of development. The project will be executed by the State Forest Department with necessary assistance from INTACH and the Institute of Palaeo-Botany, Lucknow.
Basic infrastructure such as administrative buildings, tourist lodges, nature entrepreneurship centre, electricity, water, market complex, construction shades for in-situ conservation will constructed and boundaries will be erected to protect the Fossil Park.
Necessary funds will be provided by the Department of Art and Culture from the 13th Finance Commission grant for conservation. Local villagers will be made stakeholders in the project so that they can make themselves self-sufficient by being part of the eco-tourism activities.
