CS directs Civil Surgeon to help provide institutional delivery facility in all CHCs

Ranchi, May 7: Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma has directed all civil surgeons, DSWOs and CDPOs to fix responsibilities of aanganbari sevikas and sahiyas in ensuring institutional delivery and take action on the staff not doing satisfactory work. She said it while addressing the civil surgeons, DSWOs and CDPOs about institutional delivery and nutritious food run under Social Welfare Department and Health Department at Project Building.

She directed to conduct a survey about pregnant women, promote institutional delivery and fix responsibility on sevikas and sahiyas. She asked to identify those districts where the condition is not satisfactory and run special drive to ensure it.

She directed the civil surgeons in the meeting to pay the bills of all the pathology centers of the state run under PPP mode. Special drive should be run under Rainbow Program Mission in the districts where immunization program is not satisfactory. She directed the National Health Mission to analyze institutional delivery and immunization program district-wise and identify weak districts. Moreover, she asked to take action on such aanganbari centers where institutional delivery and immunization program is zero.

She urged to take initiative to boost up the quality of Rural Health Nutrition Day so that the malnutrisioned children and their parent can be benefitted. She directed to ensure conduction of camps on the scheduled date failing to which, action will be taken on the concerned officers/staff.

She directed the health department officers to get delivery equipments for the health centers, sub-health centers and primary-health centers through floating tenders and at the same time, availability of necessary medicines should be ensured.

Mrs. Verma directed the DSWOs and CDPOs to work to fulfill the target or be ready to face the consequence. It should be noted that a minimum target is fixed for ANMs, sevikas and sahiyas to ensure institutional delivery. But works are not done properly in some districts.

Principal Secretary, Health Mr. K. Vidyasagar, Secretary, Welfare Department Mr. Vinay Kr. Choubey and Mr. Ashish Singhmar of NRHM were present in the meeting.
