Chaibasa , May 12: West Singhbhum deputy Commissioner Dr Shantanu Kumar Agrahari said that crusher plants located in Noamundi area have been directed to fulfill the norms of pollution within the stipulated time or else the crusher units would be sealed.
Addressing the weekly press briefing at DC office on Friday, Dr Shantanu Kumar said that drinking water problem arises during summer but the district administration during the disaster management meeting had decided to repair all 7000 defunct hand pumps.
Drinking water and sanitation department is involved in repairing of one hundred hand pumps everyday and from next week the work would expedite and more than two hundreds defunct handpumps would be repaired in the district.
DC further said that after physical verification it was found that the construction of toilets are substandard in Jhinkpani block and we have asked the BDOs to hold immediate meeting with Jal Sahiya and construct them as per the map designed by the government.
Deputy commissioner went on to say that no action has been taken against the play schools or nursery school. DC also appealed the people not to pay excess money beyond the prescribed tuition fees .
