Jamshedpur: Unidentified criminals looted cash worth Rs 12,000 from two persons on the Marine Drive Road near the new bridge in Sonari on Friday. They also assaulted the victims with stones, canes and other weapons, police said.
Police said the criminals robbed one Danish of Mango, Road Number 17, and Shaikhu of Bistupur when the two were returning from Bistupur to Mango via Marine Drive. The accused persons stopped the two by keeping a barrier on the road and stoning their car.
When the car stopped, five men came out of the bushes on the roadside and rounded them up. The accused persons snatched cash from the pockets of the victims and also snatched their phone. They damaged the car before escaping from the scene.
