Criminals fire at school owner in Ghatshila

Jamshedpur, Jan 9: Criminals opened firing at the owner of a school in Astha Kowali forest area under Dumuria thana area of Ghatshila sub-division on Saturday.

According to reports, four criminals on two bikes fired at the school owner Asit Kumar Bhattacharya but he somehow fled on his bike, the criminals gave him a chase even into a field and after failing to fire at him due to malfunction of the pistol, they assaulted him with the butt of the pistol and also thrashed him.

Two of the criminals sitting in the pillion of the two bikes had pistol and while the school owner was going from Kosafolia in Jian to Ghatshila to give some invitation for a function at his school and had worshiped at a temple in the hilly terrain when all of a sudden the bike borne criminals started firing at him.

Fortunately, the bullets whizzed past his head. The criminals snatched away Rs 3500, his ID card and other documents and fled from the spot. After getting the information, Dumuria police took the injured person to community health centre at Dumuria and after medical treatment took him to the spot to narrate the incident. The police recovered a mobile from near a bush at the site of the incident. Mosaboni thana in-charge, Sanjeev Kumar, Dumuria thana OC, Ashwini Kumar Rana jointly are probing the case.
