Jamshedpur, Dec 22: Absconding criminal Shahnawaj alias Badka wanted in connection with a firing case at Road Number 8 in Mango on December 18 surrendered before the court of First Class judicial magistrate Abhinav Kumar on Tuesday.
Immediately after his surrender in the Jamshedpur Civil court he was sent on judicial custody. Police had been exerting pressure for his surrender with his relatives which finally made him to surrender today.
Significantly, his involvement in the firing incident and the pistol used in the crime being in his possession was revealed to the police during interrogation by his accomplice Sohail.
Incidentally, Sajid Hussain had lodged a casein Mango thana against Shahnawaj and Sohail for firing on him on December 18. In his complaint he had said that after closing his shop all the three were taking a look at the pistol when it got fired accidentally causing him injury. Sohail was arrested soon after.
