Criminal arrested while making bid to rob businessman

Jamshedpur : The police arrested a criminal Bijay Sabaiya while he was trying to rob a city-based businessman on Tata-Hata state highway under Potka police station area in the wee hours of Thursday. The police have recovered a loaded country-made pistol and a bike from the accused while making the arrest.

According to police, Sabaiya along with his associates Jitu Gope and Bhatta Lohar were waiting for arrival of a car through the Tata-Hata state highway. On the basis of the tip off, the senior superintendent of police, Amol V Homkar immediate set up a special team, comprising officers-in-charge, Sonari and Parsudih police stations, Animesh Gupta and Dayanand Kumar respectively.

The police team raided a place on the Tata-Hata state highway and nabbed Sabaiya. Gope and Lohar managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness. During the search, the police team recovered the loaded pistol from the possession of Sabaiya
