Jamshedpur: Acting on the directives of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, the District Mining Office has intensified its campaign against illegal mining and mineral transportation. In a late-night operation, two vehicles transporting sand without valid mineral transport challans were seized.
The raids were conducted under the jurisdictions of the Sidgora Police Station and Birsanagar Police Station. Vehicle number JH05CQ-4489, loaded with sand, was intercepted in Sidgora, while vehicle number JH10AD-5627, also carrying sand, was seized in Birsanagar.
Both vehicles were found operating without the mandatory documentation required for mineral transportation, violating mining regulations. The District Mining Office has handed over the seized vehicles to the respective police stations, where further legal action is underway.
The district administration has reaffirmed its commitment to cracking down on illegal mining activities, ensuring that all transportation of minerals is conducted in accordance with government regulations. These operations are part of a broader effort to curb unlawful practices that deplete natural resources and impact revenue collection.
Authorities have warned transporters and mining operators to adhere to the legal framework, cautioning that strict penalties will be imposed on violators. The District Mining Office will continue to conduct surprise inspections to maintain vigilance against illegal activities.
