Jamshedpur, April 14: In novel way to combat threat of coronavirus, the Sadar Hospital at Chaibasa, the district headquarter of West Singhbhum, witnessed launching of one of its robotic delivery of essentials to suspected and positive Covid-19 cases.
Brainchild of 2010 BIT Mesra computer scientist and 2014 batch IAS official, Aditya Ranjan, the is model nicknamed �Co-Bot� (for Covid Robot) . Ranjan is posted as deputy development commissioner of West Singhbhum. He said that the robot is aimed at providing foods, water, medicines to Covid-19 patients without human interaction.
�It is one of the various ways to fight the virus. The objective of robot is to limit interaction between ancillary healthcare workers and paramedic staff with positive cases. However, those positive cases who are critical and on ventilator this robot would not serve the purpose. All these efforts are being made in way to meet challenges for any positive cases which might come up in our district beforehand,� said West Singhbhum deputy commissioner Arava Rajkamal.
