Student and a teacher test positive for virus

Jamshedpur, April 1: Two English medium schools and chief judicial magistrate court remained closed on Thursday after three persons including a nine standard student tested Coronavirus positive  on Wednesday.

The schools DBMS English School and Andhra Association English School, both located in Kadma locality of the city have been detected with corona positive cases.

Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) city manager, Ravi Bharti said they would seal both the schools so as to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

” We are taking every step to prevent the spread. As large number of students use to come to these schools, there is always great chance of the virus to spread. We have decided to seal these schools and are waiting for the deputation of magistrate, ” said Bharti.

 “A nine standard student was tested positive on Wednesday, the student in question was at his home when this happened. Moreover, we have kept the school closed on Thursday keeping in view of the district health department’s directive, ” said an official of the school.

She said following administration’s directive they have also informed parents of all the students studying from standard VIII upto XII for getting them all subjected to Covid test.

At the Andhra Association School, a teacher was tested positive, the school was closed from Thursday till further instruction by the administration.

Court of Chief judicial magistrate was also closed on Thursday after a judicial clerk was tested positive on Wednesday.

A special drive was carried out throughout the East Singhbhum district on Wednesday when 121 Covid cases were detected.

Meanwhile, in view of the rising Covid cases in the district, deputy commissioner, Suraj Kumar held a meeting with the health department officials on Thursday afternoon when it was resolved that the drive for Covid will have to be increased immensely.

District civil surgeon, AK Lal said after a rise in the Covid cases, the deputy commissioner held an important meeting of health and administrative officials today when it was discussed as to how can maximum number of test can be done and how to prevent the killer virus from spreading further.”

Meanwhile, the district administration has also increased the mask-checking drive in the city along the helmet checking. A police official revealed that they have carried out the drive at the points which are known as checking drive, but shortly such drive will also be conducted at the roads unknown for helmet or masking checking drive to nab the violators.
