Covid-19 vaccination drive at XLRI Jamshedpur from next week

Jamshedpur, May 21: The district vaccination will start Covid vaccination drive at XLRI auditorium from next week. In this regard, sub-divisional officer Nitish Kumar  along with other senior officials inspected the site on Friday. After inspecting the premises, the senior officer said that the vaccination drive will reach a wider section of people with the commencement of vaccination at XLRI.

The team also inspected vaccination at P&M MALL and Chinmaya School campus. The Bistupur-based PJP Cinepolis is already drawing families, students, businessmen  and corporate executives for Covid-19 vaccination being given between the age group of 18 and 44 years.

Located on the second floor of the P&M Hi-Tech City Centre Mall  on the Outer Circle Road in Bistupur has been converted into a  Covid-19 vaccination centre.

The other centres are at Loyola School in Bistupur, Tata Workers’ Union School in Kadma and RVS Academy in Mango, where the vaccination drive began recently.

The health department has set a target of providing 1000 Covishield vaccine at this centre every day. An official said of the six-screen multiplex five were being used as waiting and vaccination area while the other one was utilised as observation area.

Deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Suraj Kumar and district civil surgeon A K Lal gave necessary directives to  officials controlling the centre for ensuring hassle-free vaccination process. Physical distancing norms and other Covid protocols were followed among those who had come for vaccination.

Officials of the health department said only those between the age group of 18 and 44 years who have booked online slots will be eligible for vaccination.
