Covid-19 Jamshedpur: Single digit trend continues with 6 new cases, 1 fatality

Jamshedpur, July 5: Coronavirus cases continue to decline in Jamshedpur owing to a greater number of recoveries than fresh cases.

6 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the East Singhbhum district, while 1 death was reported on Monday, July 5. The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 51600.

11 people recovered of the virus on Monday taking the total recovery to 50484 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 64.

Of the 64 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

Jamshedpur has seen a sharp decline in their total cases in the past six weeks.

As many as 11 people recovered from the virus on Monday taking the overall recoveries to 50484 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97.85%, which is the highest so far.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 412500 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.85% while the mortality rate is 2.04 %.

With just 6 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Monday remained below 1%, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May. The positivity rate stood at 0.17% on Monday.

More than 3500 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.17%. The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.17 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 3500 tests in the last 24 hours. 

The Steel City tested 3617 samples, of which, 6 turned out positive while 11 people recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high numbers of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.17 per cent, the government data showed.

So far in Jamshedpur 1112454 samples have been collected out of which 1098075 have been tested and 1046475 have turned out to be negative.
