COVID-19 cases cross 200-mark in Jamshedpur

128 new cases take Jharkhand corona tally to 1551

Jamshedpur/Ranchi, June 10: Jamshedpur reported 20 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, June 10, taking the city�s count to 213. Seven cases were reported in the evening while 12 came up late in the night.
�Nine cases were reported from Chakulia, four from Bahragora while one case each came up from Potka, Mango Jawaharnagar, Dumaria, Govindpur, Mousabani and Dhatkidih.�
Three people arrived from Pune, two from Mumbai while two others returned from Delhi and Gujarat respectively.

All the 20 have travel history and were in institutional quarantine ever since their arrival in the city. Mango resident arrived from Gujarat on May 27 and was in institutional quarantine at Kerala Samajam quarantine centre. Govindpur resident arrived from Andhra Pradesh on May 27 and was also in quarantine at Sidhgora centre. All Chakulia resident arrived on a truck from Maharashtra.
The positives have been shifted TMH and MGM COVID-19 ward. 

On the other hand 10 people were discharged from the hospital on Wednesday.�
Total of 72 people have been discharged till date while 150 cases are still active in East Singhbhum district.�
In Jharkhand 128 cases were reported till the filing of this report on Wednesday. Total 559 people have defeated coronavirus in Jharkhand. 31 positives came up from Simdega, 19 from Giridih, 12 from Pakur, 12 from Koderma, 7 each from Palamau and Hazaribagh, 5 from Lohardaga, 20 from Jamshedpur, 5 from Chatra, 2 case each from Khunti, West Singhbhum, Bokaro, Ramgarh and Seraikela kharsawan.��
Most of the positive cases are migrants who were in quarantine in different locations.

Total active cases in the state are 962. Total cases have reached 1551 while 559 have recovered. Earlier on Tuesday 86 cases were reported including Tata Steel employee along with his wife had returned from Uttar Pradesh on June 8 was tested positive. Earlier on Sunday 113 cases were reported in Jharkhand.
The highest number of 113 cases were found on Sunday, on Friday and Saturday, 93 and 91 positive cases were reported, respectively.
The number of cases in the state was 521 on May 31 and by June 9, it has gone up to 1515, according to state health ministry data. The migrant labourers who returned over the last one month, 820 have contributed to the state tally. Till June 7, a total 87,721 people have been tested for coronavirus. The average positive test in every 100 test is 2.3 in June. East Singhbhum has become the new hot spot in the state with 150 active cases.
Sahebganj has become the 24th district in the state to be infected with COVID-19 virus. Three active cases are there in Sahebganj. Most of the corona positives are migrant workers. Most of the positives in East Singhbhum have travel history and have returned from other states.
Earlier, two intern doctors at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) were found to be Covid-19 positive, health officials said, adding that they had a recent travel history.
East Singhbhum district accounts for 212 cases out of a total of 1527.

While 91,765 people are in various quarantine centres, 2,91,828 people are in home quarantine.
Around 1,100 migrant workers returning from Red Zone areas have been detected Corona positive so far.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed his concern over the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the state. Soren while talking to reporters yesterday said that the State Government is evaluating all aspects together to take a responsible decision on imposing Lockdown again.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
