Covid-19: 1 new case in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Aug 5:  As Covid cases dip across Jharkhand, Jamshedpur reported 1 fresh case on Thursday, August 5. Sundernagar recorded the only case in the city.

2 persons recovered from the virus in East Singhbhum district on Thursday, August 5, while no death was reported. 

The new positive in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 51793.

In the past three weeks, Jamshedpur has been reporting less than 10 Covid cases each day on an average.

2 people recovered of the virus on Thursday taking the total recovery to 50731 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 23.

Of the 23 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

Jamshedpur has seen a sharp decline in their total cases in the past ten weeks.

As many as 2 people recovered from the virus on Thursday taking the overall recoveries to 50713 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97.92%.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 480302 tests per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.92% while the mortality rate is 2.04 %.

So far in Jamshedpur 1288767 samples have been collected out of which 1278563 have been tested and 1226770 have turned out to be negative.

East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar had earlier directed officials to carry out large scale testing, treatment and surveillance in order to bring down active cases and new infections. Further instructions have been issued to individual district officials in a series of meetings to prepare for a possible third wave of infections.
