Recovery rate improves to 88.82 per cent
Jamshedpur, Oct 30: Dr Rajan Choudhry, advisor, TMH and former general manager, medical services, Tata Steel, has said that the next 10 days will be crucial to control the spread of coronavirus. He said that people have been careful during Durga Puja and we have to do it in the next 10 days during Diwali and Chhath.
We need to be careful in the coming days because of Diwali and Chhath. We should continue to avoid crowding, wear masks and follow social distancing. This will reduce the chances of spread of the virus. If we remain serious about the protocols the virus will further reduce significantly, he noted.
The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients has improved from 87.32 per cent to 88.82 this week at Tata Main Hospital.
During a telephonic press meet, he said the number of positive cases is on decline. Even after Durga Puja no spike has been witnessed in the positive cases. It is a big relief for the people.
The admissions at the hospital this week was 38 while last week it was 73. The figures are signs that the cases are on the decline. The positive sign of improvement is also reflected from the fact that the positivity rate in RT-PCR tests has reduced from 4.88 to 4.08 and Antigen Test has come down to 2 per cent. The hospital so far conducted 71256 COVID tests, informed the advisor.
The spread of coronavirus continues to decline in the city. The data available at leading health hub Tata Main Hospital (TMH) only goes to show that the situation has returned to normal.
The hospital is also enhancing its facilities. It is working on a project to ensure oxygen supply on 100 per cent beds. At present only two wards are left for the facility.
He also went on to inform that about 292 patients have consulted at TMH post Covid 19 care and counselling clinic. Sensing the need of those patients who recovered from coronavirus, the hospital started the clinic. TMH is among six such clinics authorised by the State Government. About 60 per cent of those consulting the clinic have complaints of lethargy while 10 per cent have respiratory problems. The clinic is providing consultancy and counselling to such patients who want further treatment.
He went on to inform that the recovery of COVID-19 patients at one of the largest hospitals in Jharkhand, Tata Main Hospital ( TMH) has improved significantly. Dr Rajan Choudhry said that the hospital is providing the best services to the people of Jharkhand. At present only 68 positive patients are being treated at the hospital.
