No deaths reported in Jharkhand, positive cases cross 70, 000 mark
Jamshedpur, Sept. 20:�Jamshedpur, once the epicenter of Jharkhand�s coronavirus outbreak, has just reported its first day with zero confirmed or probable virus deaths since July. The milestone came Sunday in initial data from East Singhbhum health department.
Meanwhile coronavirus cases have climbed to 11,817 in Jamshedpur with 125 new cases reported on Sunday, September 20.
Positive tally has climbed to 11, 817 while the death toll stands at 289.
371 people recovered of the virus on Sunday taking the total recovery to 9350 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 2178. The district administration spokesperson informed that 125 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Sunday. East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 60253 test per million. The mortality rate in East Singhbhum stands at 2.4 % while recovery rate is 80%.
With a total of 1,492 fresh cases of Coronavirus being detected across the state on Sunday the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has crossed 70,000 mark. The best news of the day is that no deaths have been reported in the state on Sunday.
The overall death count stands at 615 in Jharkhand.
The mortality rate in the state is 0.88 percent.
As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was around 14,000 while number of cured and discharged cases has crossed 56, 000. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 615.
On Sunday a maximum number of 468 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 128 in West Singhbhum, 125 in East Singhbhum, 114 in Koderma, 63 in Godda and 50 in Saraikela districts.
A total of 1,235 number of people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 371 from Jamshedpur followed by, 214 in Ramgarh, 128 in Ranchi, 116 in Seraikela, 83 in West Singhbhum.
Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once again gone above 75 percent mark.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.
The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses reopened after around 6 months following SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls also resumed after a long time.
