Jamshedpur, May 19: The first Covid-19 positive case was reported in Seraikela-Kharsawan in the form of a 23-year-old of Ichagarh block with travel history to Maharashtra who was kept in quarantine and his report was found to be positive from MGM virology department. The youth was shifted to Tata Main Hospital Covid ward in Jamshedpur on Tuesday late evening. Administration has started contact tracing of the youth.

Meanwhile, East Singhbhum district got it’s sixth Covid-19 positive case in the form of a 20-year-old migrant from Jugsalai with travel history to Mumbai and was kept in Jugsalai quarantine center. The youth has been taken to Tata Main Hospital Covid ward after his report was found posiive by MGM virology department. A senior district official confirmed about the detection of the new case, and confirmed that the person tested Covid positive is a resident of the steel city.
The steel city reported sixth positive case of Covid 19 with a Jugsalai resident got affected with the deadly virus. The person had returned on May 15, though in the initial test he tested negative but during the second test the reports were positive.

“The man who has returned from a special train was tested for coronavirus positive on Tuesday afternoon is a resident of Jugsalai and had returned on May 15. He didn�t go to his house but rather went directly to the hospital for test. He was in the isolation ward of the MGM Medical College Hospital ever since returning here and finally his swab test was tested positive,” said the official.
He informed the patient in question has been shifted from the medical college hospital’s isolation ward to the TMH’s Covid ward late in the afternoon.
