Corona count: 331 recoveries, 246 infected, 3 deaths in Jamshedpur

Seraikela reports 46 new cases

1580 positives, 4 deaths in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur/Ranchi, Sept. 1: Jharkhand recorded 1580 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, taking the total number of positive cases registered so far to 43343. Tuesday�s health bulletin also attributed 4 deaths to the disease taking the state death toll to 427.

Three deaths were reported in Jamshedpur while one person died of the virus in Sahebganj.

Positive cases have climbed to 43343 while 427 people have lost their life due to the virus in the state including 4 on Tuesday.

Jamshedpur continues to top the casualty list with 3 patients losing their life on Tuesday.

735 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital�s across the state on Tuesday. 27915 people have recovered in Jharkhand till date while over 15000 active cases are still present in the state.

In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 7400 mark.     

246 new cases were reported on Tuesday, September 1 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 7406. 331 people recovered of the virus on Tuesday in Jamshedpur. 4588 people have recovered and have been discharged in Jamshedpur.

The district administration spokesperson informed that 246 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Tuesday.

According to East Singhbhum administration report, 206 people have died of coronavirus in Jamshedpur till the filing of this report on late Tuesday evening including 3 deaths reported on September 1.

Trends in Jamshedpur are suggesting that every second person who is being tested is positive for COVID-19. In last 11 days a sample of 3975 samples were tested and out of which 2118 people found to be positive of coronavirus. In every 100 sample tests 53.28 per cent people are being found positive.

Moreover, from 14 March till now a total of 70250 tests have been conducted and 6445 patients were identified.  The growth rate of the district from past seven days is 201.07 per cent.

The number of deaths in the East Singhbhum seems to have more than just doubled in a period of four weeks. If 37 deaths were reported in the district in July in August alone 166 people have died because of the virus. On average six have died per day in the past one month. Seraikela-Kharsawan reported 48 new cases on Tuesday.  

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.

The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.

The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses will reopen after around 6 months but will follow SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls will also resume after a long time.
