Jamshedpur: Hundreds of people blocked the Jugsalai main road on Wednesday to protest police action against wholesalers of firecrackers resulting in inconvenience to Deepawali shoppers.
They alleged that police had caused discomfort to the people purchasing firecrackers at the shops in Jugsalai by raiding the wholesale shops just a day before Deepawali.
They refused to buzz until police officials pulled out of the spot.
Police raided several shops and sealed the godowns of several traders for violating safety norms. The firecrackers were sealed in the godowns.
