Jamshedpur, Feb 22: Two police officials, Rameshwar Oraon and Anjani Kumar deposed as witness before the court of the additional district and session judge, Prabhakar Singh in connection with the murder of transporter and Bagbera resident Upendra Singh on Monday and both of them supported the prosecution side.
The investigation officer Rameshwar Oraon who was the then Sitaramdera thana OC, told the court that on November 30, 2016 he had got information that firing has taken place on the second floor of the Jamshedpur Court and one person had been killed and two persons had been caught by the mob. He reached the spot and found that the deceased was Upendra Singh and two youths caught with pistol were Binod Singh and Sonu Singh.
During interrogation of the youth it came to light that the entire incident was done on the advice of Akhilesh Singh and Harish Singh.
On the complaint of Kundan Singh, a relative of Upendra Singh, at Sitaramdera thana a case was lodged against Akhilesh Singh, Harish Singh, Jasvir Singh, Balbir Singh, Vinod Singh, Sonu Singh, Shiva and others and all the accused were arrested and chargesheet was submitted in the court.
Significantly, after the transfer of Rameshwar Oraon, Anjani Kumar had taken charge of Sitaramdera thana and taken up the probe into the case and he too deposed in the court.
So far 18 persons have given witnessed in the murder case. Among witnesses include Upendra Singh’s son , Anil Pancham, Havaldar Bachhan Singh, Kundan Singh and others.
Incidentally, Upender Singh was shot dead on November 30, 2016 on the second floor of the Bar Bhawan in the Jamshedpur Court premises and it was later found that murder conspiracy was hatched at Sunsunia Gate under Burmamines thana at a hotel owned by Anil Singh but later he refused to identify any of the accused including Akhilesh Singh and Harish Singh.
