Consulting Conclave at XLRI Jamshedpur focuses on technology

Jamshedpur, Feb 14: XLRI ExPGDM 20th Batch of 2021-22 organised its maiden consulting event Fulcrum – The Consulting Conclave, which was addressed by big wigs of the corporate sector.

Prominent speakers such as Sanjay Dawar, managing director of the Global Consulting Network at Accenture, Prakhar Tripathi, director, Deloitte, Anurag Johri, managing director, Accenture, Rahul Sanghvi, partner, BCG, Lokesh Gupta, partner, EY, Samir Sathe, executive vice president, Wadhwani Foundation, Vivek Kamra, MD, Alvarez & Marsal, Mohinish Sinha, partner, Deloitte, Aditya Malik, director, strategy&, Paul Praveen, MD, Huron Consulting, Ipshita Ghosh, MD, Accenture, Abhik Chatterjee, MD, BCG, Brajesh Singh, President, Arthur D. Little, and Vicky Bahl, Partner, Grant Thornton Bharat.

Ranaveer Sinha, president of Alumni Association XLRI and Member – XLRI Board of Governors where he shed the light on the rich history and culture of XLRI and how it was started as the oldest B-Schools in the country, followed by the Keynote address by  Sanjay Dawar, managing director, Global Consulting Network, Accenture, on Consulting of the Future. As a managing director in India, Sanjay has extensive experience working with clients in India and globally across the entire spectrum of consulting services at the intersection of business and digital / technology for over 30 years. He currently leads a team of 5000+ strategy and consulting professionals across India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Poland, and Latin America. In his keynote,  Sanjay shared his thoughts on modern day consulting, how the world of consulting is evolving ever so quickly, how important it is for consultants to keep creating value for customers even after the engagement is over, value of focusing on process excellence and people and not just on outcomes and lastly, constant upskilling is the key to changing requirements of the future.

After the first panel discussion we had another individual speaker session by Vivek Kamra, MD, Alvarez & Marsal on Business Strategy and Effective Execution. The session was followed by the second panel discussion on Strategy and Tech: Tracking the Convergence with panelists  Mohinish Sinha (Partner, Deloitte),  Aditya Malik (Director, PWC),  Paul Praveen (MD, Huron Consulting), and Ms. Ipshita Ghosh (MD, Accenture) under the moderation of Prof. Kalyan Bhaskar, Professor in Strategic Management, Business Sustainability and Public Policy & Business Strategy, XLRI Jamshedpur. This panel discussion covered various aspects of how technology is enabling the change in the world of consulting, how business models are evolving with the changing technology, and how COVID has impacted the momentum in technology adoption. The esteemed speakers also briefly shared their perspectives on the emerging topics of Blockchain, Metaverse, and NFTs.
