Jamshedpur, Feb 10: Jharkhand health minister Banna Gupta campaigned in favour of Congress candidate from Ranipur Assembly constituency of Uttarakhand, Rajvir Singh Chouhan, on Thursday.
During the campaign rally, Gupta said Congress had announced its plan to provide RO water facility in all four Dhams (Hindu pilgrimages) of Uttarakhand. This would help control pollution in the state in an effective manner, he said, adding that Congress was sure to come to power in Uttarakhand.
Gupta said tourism was the economic backbone of Uttarakhand. Bolstering tourism in the hills is top on the party’s agenda, he said.
The said Assembly seat is situated in Haridwar district and it comes under Haridwar Parliamentary constituency. In 2008, Ranipur was declared an Assembly constituency following delimitation. Adesh Chouhan of BJP has represented this seat twice.
Gupta assured the people of building model hospitals in the mountainous areas once the Congress comes into power in the state. He said drones and bike ambulances would be pressed into service to provide doorstep healthcare to the people of the state, he said.
Gupta was accompanied by many other party leaders including Dhanbad Congress leader Ashok Singh.
