Congress president raises temporary workers� issue

Jamshedpur, July 8: Jharkhand State Congress committee president Dr Ajoy Kumar Monday appealed to Tata Motors management to take care of 1300 contract workers laid off recently. He said the families of these workers may face acute financial crisis due to joblessness of bread earners.

In a press statement issued today, Kumar said the Congress party stood in solidarity with the workers and their families. He said the private companies should take steps for the welfare of temporary workers.

�It is very difficult for the contract workers to take care of their families. If the workers do not get jobs, how will they feed their family members and take care of their expenses. It would become impossible for them to carry on,� said Kumar.

Kumar criticized the Central and state governments for their anti-poor policies.
