Jamshedpur: Members of Seraikela-Kharsawan District Congress Committee have come forth to protest the auctioning of sand ghats in the district.
The district vice president of the party met the deputy commissioner in this connection and handed over a memorandum to him demanding that the auctioning process be stopped immediately.
He said only a handful of influential people had bagged the rights of sand ghats. He said the rate of all six sand ghats in Gamharia block had been fixed at Rs 4.5 crore.
