Congress leaders hold protest, demand compensation for farmers

Seraikela, Sept 29: Seraikela-Kharsawan district congress committee on Tuesday headed by district president Debu Chatterjee resorted to dharna at DC Office premises and submitted a memorandum to DC addressed to Governor of Jharkhand demanding relief to farmers of the district.

At the event Debu said, due to less rain there is a drought situation in the district and farmers are the worst sufferers. He said that farmers are taking loans and farming.

They asked the government to pardon farmers loan and also provide them compensation for destroyed crop.

At the protest District Congress In-Charge Devendra Nath Champia and Shailesh Singh, Hikim Chndra Mahato, Shivdal Sharma along with several party workers and activists.
