Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district Congress committee leaders burnt an effigy of the Central government in Golmuri on Thursday to protest against the alleged violation of Constitutional provisions by the BJP to form government in Karnataka.
Leading the protestors, state Congress president Dr Ajoy Kumar said the Central government led by the BJP had completely disregarded the Constitution of India by preventing the Congress to form government in Karnataka with its partner, JD (S).
The Karnataka Governor should have allowed the Congress to form government instead of inviting the BJP which had failed to get the magic number.
Kumar further said that the Congress party would launch a phased agitation against the displacement of 200 shopowners and vendors of Golmuri by the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee.
Among those present on the occasion included district Congress president Vijay Khan, Gayatri Das, Puja Singh, Aparna Guha, Laddu Pandey, Prince Singh, Rajeev Mishra, Bablu Jha and Pawan Kumar.
