Jamshedpur: A delegation of members of East Singhbhum district Congress committee met the deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Amitabh Kaushal on Thursday and demanded identification of BPL families in the district.
Leading the agitation, district Congress president Vijay Khan said a large number of BPL families residing in the various bustis of the city were devoid of the benefits meant for them under the various government schemes.
He said the administration should take necessary action to ensure that the benefits of the welfare schemes reach the BPL families. He also demanded a survey of BPL families in the city.
