Jamshedpur, Nov 18: Former minister and Congress candidate Banna Gupta filed nomination from Jamshedpur West Assembly constituency on Monday. He was accompanied by hundreds of party workers, leaders of Opposition alliance and supporters.

Before going for nomination, he went to Rankini Mandir, Kadma, and performed puja. Thereafter, he offered tributes to late Nirmal Mahato and also sought blessings of Savita Mahato, wife of former JMM leader late Sudhir Mahato. JMM leader Astik Mahato was also present at Savita Mahato�s residence. Gupta went to the airport and welcomed Jharkhand Congress in-charge RPN Singh, assistant in-charge Umang Singhar and zonal coordinator Keshav Mahato and took them to his Kadma office. From here, hundreds of party workers took out a rally to Aam Bagan, Sakchi.

Addressing party workers, Gupta said the law and order situation of Jamshedpur had deteriorated. He accused the BJP of misleading the voters in the name of giving ownership right to 86 slums of the city. He said the state government miserably failed to improve the healthcare services at MGM Hospital. The government also failed to improve the condition of National Highway 33, he said.

Gupta said the issues pertaining to basic civic amenities still lay unattended by the BJP. He sought the blessings of voters, party workers and supporters.
