Congress activists detained for trying to burn CMís effigy

Chaibasa, July 23: A number of Congress Party activists of West Singhbhum were arrested by police near the Post Office Chowk while they were trying to burn an effigy of Chief Minister Raghubar Das during a demonstration.

The Congress activists were detained for seven hours at the police station. The district unit president of the Congress Party, Sunny Sinku criticized the Chief Minister Raghubar Das for the alleged police atrocities during a peaceful dharna.

The Congress Party staged a dharna in front of the deputy commissionerís office alleging that the Raghubar Das government was involved in horse trading during Rajya Sabha election which was exposed by sting operation.

They submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner addressed to Governor.
